Material Care Guide
Last updated: August 25, 2026
A well-cared-for bag lasts for years. JINMAN bags are made from genuine leather, premium vegan (PU) leather, and canvas — each needs slightly different care. Find your material below.
1. Genuine Leather
- Clean: Wipe with a soft dry or lightly damp cloth. For dirt, use a pH-neutral leather cleaner.
- Condition: Apply a leather balm or conditioner every 2–3 months to prevent drying and cracking.
- Dry: Air-dry away from direct heat and sunlight. Never use a hairdryer or radiator.
- Avoid: Soaking, harsh detergents, and prolonged rain. If it gets wet, blot (don't rub) and dry naturally.
2. Vegan (PU) Leather
- Clean: Wipe with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap. PU is water-resistant and easy to maintain.
- Dry: Pat dry with a soft towel; no conditioning needed.
- Avoid: Machine washing, submerging, and alcohol-based wipes that can dull the surface.
3. Canvas
- Clean: Spot-clean with a soft brush and mild soapy water. For deeper cleaning, hand-wash gently and air-dry.
- Dry: Reshape while damp and dry flat, away from direct sun to prevent fading.
- Avoid: Bleach and tumble dryers.
4. Stain First Aid
| Stain | What to do |
| Ink (leather) | Dab with a cotton swab of rubbing alcohol, then condition. |
| Oil / grease | Blot with cornstarch or talcum powder; leave overnight, then brush off. |
| Water marks (leather) | Lightly wipe the whole panel with a damp cloth, then condition evenly. |
| General dirt | Mild soap + damp cloth; dry immediately. |
5. Smart Storage
- Keep bags upright in a dust bag or pillowcase.
- Stuff the interior with tissue paper or a soft cloth to hold the shape.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid hanging heavy bags by their straps for long periods.
