What Fits Inside a Tote Bag?

By JINMAN Editorial Team·2026-09-02·4 min read
Everyday items laid out next to a leather tote

A tote's capacity is just its interior box. Ours are about 32–33 cm wide × 28 cm tall × 13–14 cm deep, so here is what that actually holds — measured against real items, not marketing.

The standard daily load

Capacity by tote size

Tote (real dims)Holds comfortably
Goyard-style Zip Tote (32×28×13)13–14″ laptop, notebook, wallet, pouch
Handwoven Luxury Tote (33×28×14)14″ laptop + water bottle + lunch
Woven-wing Leather Tote (32×28×14)14″ laptop, tablet, pouch, umbrella

What a tote will NOT swallow

Be honest: a standard tote is not a weekender. A 15.6″ laptop, a thick hardcover book, a 1 L bottle, and a packed lunch at once will overfill a 33 cm tote and warp its shape. For that load, size up or split it across a tote + a separate pouch.

Pack it so it stays structured

Put the laptop flat against one side, the notebook against the other, and soft items (pouch, scarf) in the middle. The bag stands up and the leather keeps its line — which is the whole point of a leather tote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a tote bag fit a laptop?
Yes, if the tote is at least ~32 cm wide. Our leather totes are 31–33 cm wide and fit a 13-inch laptop and most 14-inch laptops. A 15.6-inch laptop (about 36 cm) is too wide for a standard tote.
Can a tote fit a tablet and a notebook together?
Easily. A tablet (about 24 × 17 cm) and an A5 notebook sit flat beside a wallet and phone in a 32 × 28 cm tote, with room to spare.
Will a water bottle fit in a tote?
A slim 500 ml bottle fits in the 13–14 cm depth of our larger totes (e.g. the handwoven tote at 33 × 28 × 14 cm). A wide 1 L bottle is a tight squeeze — use a side pocket or a smaller bottle.
